MRC Coached Programs

Programs have a fee in addition to your annual membership dues to cover the cost of coaches. Fees are typically collected by program captains. Schedules and costs vary. Please contact program captains and coaches for more information. See Club Contacts.

Small Boats Program - for intermediate to advanced male and female college through masters age rowers. Instruction in singles and pairs only (prior experience in these boats is required). Focus is on skill development and competition. Coached practices 3 mornings per week.

Competitive Men Program for experienced college age through masters men. The focus is on improving conditioning, technique and boat speed. Members are expected to scull and sweep in all size boats. Team practices 2-3 times per week, with an expectation of rowing/working out 5 times per week.

Competitive Women Program for experienced college age through masters women. The focus is on improving conditioning, technique and preparing to compete. Members are expected to scull and sweep in all size boats and attend at least two regattas per summer and fall season. Team members must commit to at least 4 team practices per week, with an expectation of rowing/working out 5 times per week. For more information, view our brochure.

Novice Program for men & women who just completed a Learn to Row course at the Minneapolis Rowing Club or elsewhere. Typically rowers with less than one year of experience. This is a program for skill development and fitness.

Sport Program is for rowers with more than one year experience. Focus is on fitness, skill development and fun. Rowers have the option of sculling or sweeping and participating in regattas.
